It would take a pretty strong man to move a mountain.
Like, infinitely strong. Like way past Goku and Superman… OK maybe Goku could, but not Superman.
In any case, it has not entered in the minds of humanity to literally move mountains. We climb them, we take pictures… but for the most part, we build AROUND them. Consider this, we do the same thing in our everyday lives… we encounter a mountain, and we live AROUND it. Not speaking unto it in prayer and casting it out of our lives.
Jesus used a mountain in the parable explaining how to use faith. Everyone knows this one, “If ye have the faith of a GRAIN of a mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence and to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.” (Matt 17:20). Faith speaks. Faith is patient. Faith is obedient, and it is the only thing that can please God.
“For without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb 11:6). But why so?
Faith is also a SHIELD (Eph 6:16), Faith is required to hear from God and to understand his word (Heb 4:2, Romans 14:23). The defense of your SOUL and the application of the instruction of wisdom are the key critical things that must be done in the heart of the Jesus-Lover! God did not leave you without weapons to fight against life with, (2 Cor 10:3-5)! All of his power in your life is only accessed by faith.
But… what if we leave home without our gun? Or forget the essential things that we are not to live without, “for man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God” (Matt 4:4)? What if we are STUBBORN as an OX!?
These ingrained negative behaviors causes us to have unnecessary mountains in our life. Mountains that God will take us around for “40 years”, (Joshua 5:6), until we learn the lesson that we ought to DEPEND on God. We ought to seek God out before everything, and I know that’s tough to understand, trust me I’ve literally racked my brain over what it meant to “in all my ways acknowledge him…” (Prov 3:3-5). It means EXACTLY what it says, to consult God before your decisions! But we don’t do that as a human race. Too busy being self-reliant not seeing that God has had his hands on our life the entire time.
So you might be reading this with problems in your life you can’t understand. You might be reading this in need of a nice slice of humble pie, (as I need hefty helpings of too from time to time). When the rebellious nature done flared up, and it’s causing you to be in a place that is not where God wants you to be…
The SOLUTION: is prayer.
Prayer and fasting repairs the breach, (IS.58:12). Prayer and Fasting is the only thing strong enough to combat certain strongholds,(Mark 9:29). Prayer and FASTING will push you into your destinty, (Matt 4:2)
In prayer, you can bind up the evil holding you back(Matt 18:18). In prayer, you receive access (Romans 5:2). In prayer, you HUMBLE yourself before God and allow Jesus to begin to make changes in you thought habits and behaviors.
Prayer can, and will, move your mountains!
